My mission is to help you heal from the trauma you’ve experienced and find your way back to a better, more peaceful life. I’m here to create a safe and caring space where we can work together to manage your anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and relationship challenges. My goal is to guide you step by step, helping you build the strength and skills you need to move forward.
Founder of Hearts of The Canyon Therapy
I’m Vickie Larson-Hills, and I get it. Life hasn’t always been easy for me either. I know what it’s like to face challenges, overcome hurdles, and feel disconnected from the world around you. That’s why I became a therapist... because I believe in the power of authentic connection, and I’ve seen firsthand how it can heal.
I don’t offer cookie-cutter therapy. I create a space where we have real, honest conversations, and I guide you toward finding peace, clarity, and strength within yourself. My practice, Hearts of the Canyon Therapy, is a place where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. I’m not just here to listen... I’m here to help you move forward.
I believe that therapy should be as unique as the person seeking it. Traditional methods don’t work for everyone, and I’ve seen too many people feel frustrated and overlooked in therapy that didn’t fit their needs. That’s why I use a creative, individualized approach in every session. Together, we’ll explore different modalities to see what resonates with you and helps you heal. Some of the core areas I focus on include:
14+ Years Of Experience
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 14 years of experience helping people through tough times. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University, and since then, I’ve been working with individuals, families, and teens on a wide range of issues like trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I’ve had advanced training in EMDR therapy, which is a proven method for working through trauma. I also use Animal-Assisted Therapy and Equine Therapy in my practice because I believe that animals can help us heal in ways words sometimes can’t.
Over the years, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life who are dealing with deep emotional pain, trauma, and anxiety. I specialize in helping trauma survivors, whether it’s from a lifetime of difficult experiences or a single life-changing event. My clients have been veterans, survivors of domestic violence, people dealing with life-altering diagnoses, and many others who feel stuck in a cycle of fear and emotional chaos.
My Commitment
I’m committed to understanding your unique challenges and finding the best ways to help you. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, or relationship issues, I’ll make sure our sessions are tailored to support your healing.
With over 14 years of experience helping people like you, I know what works in therapy. I’m dedicated to using proven methods and staying up-to-date with the best ways to support you. You can count on me to guide you with care and expertise.
Your comfort is important to me. I offer you a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and talk openly. My goal is to work with you in a way that feels right and helps you move forward with confidence.
At Hearts of the Canyon Therapy, I offer virtual trauma therapy to anyone in Oregon, including those in Salem, Albany, and Stayton. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, PTSD, or other emotional challenges, you can receive support without leaving home. Virtual therapy gives us the chance to work together, wherever you are, in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.
My clients often tell me they’ve tried therapy before but didn’t feel like they were getting the help they needed. Many traditional approaches felt too rigid or clinical. What I offer is different. I’m here to give real feedback, to be an active partner in your healing. My sessions are conversational, insightful, and designed to help you feel empowered, not overwhelmed.
By combining authentic connection, personalized therapy, and a strong foundation in trauma recovery, I guide my clients toward real change. Whether you’re dealing with intrusive thoughts, relationship struggles, or the weight of past trauma, we’ll work together to build coping skills, emotional resilience, and a future that feels safe and fulfilling.
Let's see if we are a great fit.
